What Generation X’ers Are Tired Of

Being a Generation X’er isn’t easy. We are sandwiched between two generations that most of us have trouble relating to. Here are a few things that we are tired of…

We’re Tired of Being Told What to Do

Baby Boomers want us to think like them while Millennials want us to be like them. In reality, we just want to be left alone. We have minds of our own. They may be warped at times, but we own that and are not afraid to tell you so.

We Are Tired of Commutes

We are tired of spending more time in our cars dealing with idiot drivers instead of spending time with our families or getting drunk. Although you may label us as angry drivers, we are actually there to try and prevent you from driving into a building when you thought you were stepping on the brake or too busy texting that you have been sitting at the green light for 10 seconds. We are there to help. So if angry is helping, then so be it.

We Are Tired of Parents Who Don’t Discipline Their Children in Public

If we acted like some of the children and teenagers of today in public our parents would kick the crap out of us! For example:

Today’s Mothers

Little Johnny: (knocks down a whole table of baked beans)

Mother: Now Johnny, stop that or you will be in time out when you get home.

Little Johnny: (Ignores mom then walks away and knocks down a stand full of candy bars)

Mother: *sighs*

Back In The Day Mothers

Little Johnny: (Knocks down a whole table of baked beans)

Mother: Johnny, you pick up every can and put it back or I will beat your ass in front of all of these people!

Little Johnny: (Puts cans back on table and apologizes to mom because he knows that he STILL may get his ass beat).

See the difference?

We Are Tired of Having To Deal With Music and TV Shows That Suck

Whatever happened to Friends, Seinfeld and Everybody Love Raymond types of shows? And Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Family Ties, etc. Why do I have to be subjected to shows that are not funny and fall flat with dialogue? Thanks to Netflix and Hulu, prime time TV can die a painful death as far as I’m concerned.

And what happened to music! Good Lord! I’m not sure where and when we went wrong with music, but most music of today is complete shit unless you are a band from back in the 80’s or 90’s who has continued to rock and put out kick ass music! Generation X’ers want music about sex, drugs and rock n roll, not artists that try to look hard but put out soft music…and I’m talking to you too, rappers! Try listening to The Notorious B.I.G then come back to me about how you are the best rapper of all time. I must admit that SOME music of today I DO listen to but I’ve also noticed that this particular music I like has the same sound as the music I grew up on, so it’s okay.

We’re Tired of Being Tired

This one speaks for itself.

WHEW! I’m glad I got that off my chest! I’m sure there are many other things that us Gen X’ers are tired of but I feel like we would be here forever, plus I need a nap now.
