Thanksgiving Hangover

Hey all! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

As I mentioned in my last post, I was going to try making some food from scratch this year. I chose to do mashed potatoes AND stuffing. I was pleased with the results, but the mashed potatoes could have definitely been LESS dry. It was nothing that a little gravy couldn’t fix, but still, a little disappointing. At least I tried I guess…Ha! We also had green bean casserole that I’ve kind of perfected, corn and Hawaiian rolls (I forgot to take pics of them!)

My husband had to work this year and this is the first year that we haven’t been together for Thanksgiving. I honestly didn’t realize how much he helps on Thanksgiving. While I’m cooking, he’s usually washing the dishes, cutting up vegetables and he always carves the turkey. This year, with it just being me cooking dinner, I really felt the pain of not having extra hands to help! My carving was a complete massacre with parts flying everywhere, the floor had gotten food on it from me being clumsy at one point and I slipped on it (stuffing by the way) and my vegetables for the stuffing looked like Edward Scissorhands did them. Thank God I wasn’t hosting anyone else but my father! Father’s make you feel good even if something sucks. Thanks dad! Ha!

So, needless to say, when nighttime came and the last football game started, I started drinking and all was good in the world! I may start earlier next year! Drinking, that is 😉

Blessings to you all
